Peace!
Goodday everyone! I know I'm mega late posting this blog.
• Guess who's still actively working on musics for your enjoyment? WE ARE! Some BIG BIG sounding musics. Hollerrrrrr! Anyhow, Imma' get me one of those lidl mino flip cams so that these blogs can be more entertaining to you guys. That way we can post some ridiculous shite for you to giggle at while slacking at work. That's how to do it!
• Jean Goode word of the day: lidl

• So I was looking through my old songs from when I was doing my awkward transition from R&B/Pop to Alternative Rock. You know... on the search for my own comfort zone in music. I always get very amused when listening to all of my old songs. I figured I'd break the ice w/ you all and embarrass myself before we make it big and have people leaking my old songs and embarrassing me themselves. Heheheheh. Jokey joke...kinda. Anyway, check out this song I recorded on January 2004. This is so crazy to me!!! It's called "Thanks For Wasting My Time" and I dragged Glen Ashlee into it to do some corny parts. *triangular South Park smile*
Perhaps I'll share one every few blogs. For fun times.
• Guess who's sporting the "Triangular South Park Smile"

Anyway, on to something more informative. Here's some interesting info about our beloved peace sign:

Ok, so lets finally establish what the peace sign should look like. The peace sign we all know and love is actually INCORRECT! Or at least what we think it means is. How did I come to this conclusion? Well, one afternoon I was working on a flyer that required a peace sign. So, I went on to Google images and given that I haven't seen the symbol in quite some time, the images looked strange to me. It looked upside down to me. So, as curious as I am and as much as I love to humor my suspicions, I did some more Googling and came across some very interesting information. Before I continue, just take a look at the image above. Which symbol do YOU think looks more positive and/or comforting?
In history, symbols have been known to be flipped upside down, inverted or altered in some way to often times represent the negative of the original symbol or the opposite of what the symbol originally meant. One example would of course be the use of the swastika which we most associate with Nazi Germany. However, the swastika is much older than that. It's a symbol that has been used in many religions to represent good luck or well being. But, Hitler was a kook and made the swastika famous for the wrong reasons and with the wrong meaning. Also, with his own personal touch. See below.

Another valid example would be the cross. Not originally pertaining to Christianity. Actually the symbol is much older than Christianity. Nonetheless, the meanings attached to the cross are either neutral or positive. However the inverted or upside down cross is associated with negative meanings. The peace symbol itself is sometimes referred to as the broken cross. That can't be good.
"Known as the 'peace sign' throughout the sixties and into the present day, this symbol is the Teutonic rune of death. Fifties peace advocate Gerald Holtom may have been commissioned by...Bertrand Russell to design a symbol to unite leftist peace marchers in 1958. It is clear that either Holtom or Russell deemed the Teutonic (Neronic) cross as the appropriate symbol for their cause.
The peace symbol (also called the "broken cross," "crow's foot," "witch's foot," "Nero Cross," "sign of the 'broken Jew,'" and the "symbol of the 'anti-Christ''') is actually a cross with the arms broken.
"The Germanic tribes who used it attributed strange and mystical properties to the sign. Such a 'rune' is said to have been used by 'black magicians' in pagan incantations and condemnations....To this very day the inverted broken cross--identical to the socialists' 'peace' symbol--is known in Germany as a 'todesrune,' or death rune.
Not only was it ordered by Hitler's National Socialists that it must appear on German death notices, but it was part of the official inscription prescribed for the gravestones of Nazi officers of the dread SS. The symbol suited Nazi emphasis on pagan mysticism.''

Interesting. To get to the point, it's not far fetched to say that the peace sign is actually upside down, and should be pointing upward if it were to represent something positive. Besides, when we do the peace sign with our hands, it makes a "v" like the upward peace symbol.

If you start to do some research on the symbol, you will come to find many opinions and arguments about what it actually means. I came across a few articles stating that the symbol (upward or downward) is altogether a satanic symbol. However, I have my own theories about satanism and what that technically means. Also, as demonstrated above when I explained about the swastika, just because a symbol is used for one reason, doesn't necessarily mean the symbol represents the reason. But, to kind of give you a clue as to why these connections may have been made, I will briefly explain. The upward peace sign also represents the tree of life going upwards towards the heavens. The tree of life always went hand in hand with the whole Adam and Eve story, which there is a tremendous amount of metaphor and symbolism involved. Much of that symbolism which has to do with genetics, which believe it or not has to do with the origins of satanism. I know, I know, too much off register information, but I had to keep it straight and simple for now just to make a point about this symbol. Also to explain that with time (and I mean a lot of time), original meanings become diluted and misrepresented. Not only with symbols, but with pretty much everything. So, with that said, lets not be made fools of and turn that frown upside down. Get it!?
This new way of using the Peace sign will also affect us mentally and we will actually be more peaceful when wearing it rather than angry 'cause shite ain't peaceful. Peace attracts peace ya'll!
