In honor of the 12th TV Tuesday, I wanted to express the significance of the number 12 in my life. One of the reasons why Transit Venus even exists is 'cause of this number.

Back in late 2004, I began dreaming about it. Actually the dream was basically a voice telling me "People who speak the square root of 12". I would have this recurring dream about 2-5 times a month for a few months. Then, the voice just chopped it right down to "12". Of course I was extremely curious to find out WHY I had been dreaming about the number. But, there were no clues as to why, and eventually the dreams somewhat faded. Then in December of 2005, I began dreaming of 12 yet again. Except this time, it wasn't even a dream, I actually HEARD a whispery voice say my name followed by "12". So now I started to get freaked out, 'cause this happened like 5 or 6 times right when I would go to bed. I wouldn't even be asleep yet. Like anyone who would be trying to look for answers, I told a couple of people including my mother. She thought I was probably a little schizophrenic. Heh. Later that month I had this dream that consisted of very quick images of a deceptive government, ET's, UFO's...you name it. It wasn't even a solid dream, it was just very quick images. Before that dream I wasn't interested in anything. Then after that dream, I inherited an obsessive impulse to want to know all about the following subjects and beyond. After that dream, my recurring 12 dreams stopped. As if all of those 12 dreams were just building up to this one important one. Till this day I can't stop my search for truth and meaning to all of this. Of course since 2005 I have discovered A LOT! I've learned A WHOLE LOT, and I finally reached a point where I'm pretty much at peace with everything I've learned, and continue to learn.

So after doing much research, of course I stumbled upon the 2012 prophecies. I wonder if this is what that 12 dreaming was all about. I still don't know. Of course because I stumbled upon 2012 prophecies, I stumbled upon what the ancient Mayan civilizations had to say about that year. This is part of how the name Transit Venus came about. Actually, there's a whole other dream attached to that name, but I'll tell you about that some other time. The point is without having had that one integral dream that made me want to search for truth, Transit Venus would probably not have existed, for more reasons than one.

12, however, IS an important number in our lives. There are 12 months in the year. 12 hours in the day. 12 in the night. 12 signs in the zodiac (actually there are 13 but that's a whole other blog...perhaps the next one!) 12 is also a prominent number in many religions. Anyhow, as time went by I had realized that the number had been following me throughout my life and more so after the dreams had stopped. I made a list of the times 12 has sneakily appeared:

1. Transit Venus = 12 letters
2. Pennsylvania where we recorded our album = 12 letters
3. 417 (our room # the last time we went to PA to complete the album) adds up to 12 of course
4. My birthday 2/19/84 adds up to 12 : 2+1+9=12 // 8+4=12
5. I'm employee #12 at my job.
6. When I went to renew my ID this year, I was called up to booth 12
7. Walter Rafael = 12 letters
7. Teddy!'s real name also adds up to 12 letters
8. Asteroid Belt = 12 letters
9. "Bright Wander" which was a possible name for our band adds up to 12
10. Our album time adds up to 40:44 = 12
11. It took 12 days to record the album
12. There's a certain spot I always stand in the train station on my way home from work. On that same spot, on the wall, there is the number 12 in black and white tile.
13. One time I had to buy a phone card, and the one they gave me had a "12" written on it in blue marker.
14. I'm a Pisces = 12th sign in the Zodiac

I know there's more but I dont have my actual list with me now. You get the point, though. After a while it just got kinda' silly. Especially since it's so completely unintentional. Pretty interesting, huh?
