And on that documentary...

I had some long ass opinion written up in my head, but after watching it ... I honestly don't have the energy to lay down all of my thoughts on it.

Anyway, I thought it was informative; the film was a lot more grounded than previous documentaries that touched on the same topic some years prior (they were all over YouTube for a good while). But, like the other documentaries that attempted to shed light upon such a grave situation, it had a major, major flaw. Hell, it had a few.

For one, the film's title is insensitive to fanatical supporters of Obama. Its purpose is to shock and draw attention, which it did, for me anyway. But most Obama supporters would write it off as some potentially racist anti-Obama propaganda. The majority of his supporters won't think twice to ignore it.

Secondly, it focused too much on The What instead of The How. Throughout the film we're told of the shadowy corporations pulling the strings behind our government, with Obama as their puppet. We're informed of how dangerous they are. We're informed that some of our constitutional rights will be stripped from us. We're told that we'll be slaves in their New World Order. That fuckin' Armageddon is practically right around the corner (they literally tell you that the earth will be destroyed). Twenty minutes into the film, you're scared shitless, and you're anxious to know what you can do to give Big Brother his comeuppance.

Whereas other documentaries on this subject had pretty much told you that we're fucked, The Obama Deception suggests that there IS something we can do.

"And the Most Anti-Climactic Answer of All Time award goes to...!"

We're told that we need to become aware—which the documentary does. We're told that we need to do our research—which will make us even more aware. And then finally we're told to "take a stand," to say "No" to these evil bastards trying to take over the world.

WHAT?!

I don't know about y'all, but I think the people need a little more hope than that. And I've paid enough attention to my history professors to know that it takes more than saying "no" to an all-powerful government backed by insurmountable funds and military. That may be a pessimistic way of looking at it, but it's honestly how I feel. "Taking a stand" will do as much problem solving as randomly rioting in the streets. It's better than nothing, but shit, they've been warning us about this shit for years. You'd think they'd have more on the agenda than that.

But hey, this is a start, and you can't expect starting gameplans to be perfect. The purpose of this film was to spark awareness, which in turn sparks action. We just need to know what that action actually IS.

So yeah...those are my thoughts.

And no, I still didn't lay down all of my thoughts on the film. LOL.

Peace.
